Thanks to everyone who was able to make it to our question-and-answer session this Sunday. We were so glad to see so many of you attend.
We covered a lot of ground in our first unit-wide meeting. MSNBC Union Organizing Committee members addressed your questions on topics like bargaining, benefits, and how this process is playing out with management. Invaluable information came from our Writers Guild guest speakers who gave their firsthand experience with working in a union, how it compares to MSNBC, and what it was like negotiating a first contract. A huge thank you to Writers Guild of America, East Vice President Kathy McGee; co-EP of “Desus & Mero” and WGAE Council member Josh Gondelman; “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” writer Nate Dern; “Tooning Out the News” writing supervisor (and our former MSNBC colleague) Naima Pearce; and Eater special correspondent Meghan McCarron. We really appreciate them attending the meeting, sharing their experiences with us and showing their enthusiastic support!
